World Cup fever hits at Locker Room

With the World Cup just days away, we at Lockerroom are getting in the World Cup spirit. As such, we have already had a sweepstake. Unfortunately, this was not without controversy as MD’s Justin Brookfield and Iain Linkletter were paired with favourites Spain & Brazil. I on the other hand am not over the moon with picking out holders Italy but it could’ve been a lot worse and perhaps I could be in with a shout of third place.

We’ve also set up a Lockerroom Fantasy Football Mini League that is filling up fast. Each member of staff was asked to pick their first XI and subs and given 20 transfers to make throughout the tournament. Favourites for the as yet to be confirmed prize is current reigning champion from the domestic season and Lockerroom’s Associate Director, Robert Jones as well as Euro 2008 champion, Justin Brookfield.

Finally, to get in the World Cup Spirit, a few of us give our opinions on the World Cup:

Veronika Starell – Senior Account Executive
Who will win the World Cup? -  Brazil
Who will finish as the leading goal scorer? – Hmmm….Messi
Where will England finish? – 3rd
Who will be the overachievers? Denmark – (because I got them in the office sweepstake and they better perform!!) South Korea, Serbia
Who will be the underachievers?  – Portugal, Germany

Mo Koubeissi – Creative Designer
Who will win the World Cup? – Brazil
Who will finish as the leading goal scorer? – Luis Fabiano
Where will England finish? – Quarter Finals
Who will be the overachievers? – Ivory Coast
Who will be the underachievers? – France

Paul Cruse – Creative Designer
Who will win the World Cup? – Spain
Who will finish as the leading goal scorer? – David Villa
Where will England finish? – 4th (I’d love to see us win it but can’t see passed Brazil in the Semi Finals)
Who will be the overachievers? – I fancy Serbia to make an impact before going out to Argentina in the Quarter Finals
Who will be the underachievers? – I Can’t see Portugal progressing out of the Group of Death.
